Independent salon Bluetit is known for having branches in London's coolest districts, from Dalston and Clapton to Peckham, so it comes as no surprise that it's opened salon in Brixton. Inspired by Berlin, the interior is stark, with bare white walls and exposed iron beams and industrial furniture.
If this doesn't sound like a warm environment, you'd be wrong - the staff are as both unprentious and friendly, the kind of people who wore a Champion hoodie long before Vetements made them cool again, and who have managed the art of making small talk seem genuine.

The treatment: I wanted to cut my hair from past the shoulder to just below the nape. Stylist Tom talked me through what would suit me best and, most importantly, really listened to me. He added extra waves at the end for texture and used Davines natural products, which smell amazing. The whole process was really easy and not stressful at all.
The verdict: My new bob is as low maintenance as Tom promised and works well with my natural waves. It also feels doubly healthy and has a great amount of volume and shine, too. I was overall very happy with the results.

The Treatment: I wanted a brighter, shorter version of the bob I already had, and Tom and Harriet (Head of Colour) listened to me and helped make suggestions to give my new style an edge. Harriet was one of the best colourists I have ever had my hair done by, and I love the creamy bleach blonde colour she applied to my hair.
Harriet also used Olaplex to ensure my locks still looked shiny and healthy. Tom took over for the cut, and gave me a trim with shorter layers. He made my style look much cooler and more modern.
The verdict: My colour is staying strong and my hair looks shiny, chic and choppy. Overall I really enjoyed my experience at Bluetit. The salon is cool, the staff are friendly and the results from my appointment exceeded my expectations.
