Joey Meyer, DePaul University Basketball Coach, Dead at 74
Joey Meyer, who spent more than 30 years with DePaul University's men's basketball team — first as a player and later as a coach — has died. He was 74. The Chicago-based university said in a news release that Meyer died on Friday afternoon in Hinsdale, Illinois, surrounded by his family. Meyer, who was born in Chicago in 1949, began his basketball career at DePaul Academy, helping lead his team to the 1967 Chicago Catholic League Championship and the Chicago City Championship.

UTC Swindon Plans Revealed
Plans to build a new education centre for teenagers in Swindon have moved a step nearer.
BAM Construction has been chosen as the firm to build UTC Swindon, based on the preferred Mill Site location.
UTC's are a new concept in technical education for students aged 14 to 19 and are focused on delivering first class teaching which also supports the needs of regional employers. Building work should begin in the autumn of 2013, with the proposed site is subject to lease negotiations, planning permission and Government approval.

The university just fired 3 officials -- CFO Steve Lopes, senior associate athletic director Ron Orr and associate athletic director Scott Jacobson. USC hasn't said why they were canned, but we've confirmed all 3 were heavily involved in fundraising efforts for Trojan athletics.
