  • If you don't want to hear a song, you can hide it using the Spotify mobile app for iOS or Android.
  • On mobile, you can hide any song in a public playlist or album by tapping the three dot menu and choosing Hide song.
  • You can unhide a song by tapping the three dot menu and choosing Hidden.

It's inevitable that you'll encounter tracks among the millions on Spotify that you simply don't want to hear anymore, and that is what the Hide feature is for — you can hide tracks found on albums or public playlists, and then Spotify will skip that song if it comes up in your queue. Hidden tracks aren't gone forever, though; you can easily unhide them. Here is how to hide and unhide a song on Spotify.

How to hide a song on Spotify

Spotify lets you hide any song that appears on an album or in a public or Spotify-made playlist. In other words, you can't hide tracks that are in one of your own playlists. In addition, you can only use the "hide" feature on tracks via the Spotify mobile app — there is no way to do it from the computer desktop or browser, with a lone exception.

1. In the Spotify app, open a playlist or an album that has a song you want to hide.

2. In the track list for the playlist or album, tap the three dots to the right of the song you want to hide.

3. In the menu, tap Hide song (on iOS) or Hide this song (on Android).

The song will now turn gray. You won't be able to play it by tapping on it, and Spotify will skip it if the song turns up in a playlist or album.

Note: There is a lone exception of a location that allows you to remove songs on the Spotify desktop app. In your Discover Weekly playlist, you can hover over a song and select the circle icon with a minus sign to "remove" the song and prevent it from appearing in later versions of the playlist. To undo this, hover over and click the same icon again.

How to unhide a song on Spotify

1. In the Spotify app, open a playlist or an album that has the song you had previously hidden.

2. Tap the three dots to the right of the song you want to unhide.

3. Tap Hidden

The track will unhide and you should be able to play it again.
